Hiya!

Welcome to our little piece of the Interwebs. Why this blog and why now? Well, our past four+ years have been more than, let’s say “interesting” – which doesn’t come close to an all encompassing description. Beginning with losing our home to Hurricane Michael (Category 5, 10/10/18); making the decision to move to Central Florida (and landing in a less than ideal location, oops – more on that in an upcoming blog post); the COVID-19 pandemic hitting exactly one year after our move, finetuning our location, hunkering down (as the dearly departed Leslie Jordan termed it) for the duration; and finally…yes, FINALLY, feeling like we made it through as the second half of 2022 came around. Now at the start of 2023, we are continuing to find the beauty in every day and feeling like we are finally coming out of the shell shock of the past 4 years, so many lessons learned and information to share re: our experiences…but, no maximum level fretting here, while there will be a few posts about those challenges, our goal is for the majority of posts to be about our recent forays into travel and exploration, both elsewhere and here in Central Florida. Our hope for this blog is to find a balance between lessons learned and joys experienced and hope that in some small way, the information that we put out into the world helps someone somewhere.

One additional note, you’ll notice that all the blog posts are written by me aka Epistemophiliac Jack, but I’ll use “our” a lot because these have definitely been “our” challenges and they are definitely “our” adventures and travels.

With gratitude,

J.
